Better hot tub filter, fewer chemicals needed

Here is a great example: Filter cleaner and clarifiers. If you use a traditional paper pleated filter, it needs to be cleaned with a detergent every couple of weeks or so. If you forget to clean it, the water can get cloudy because the filter is no longer working properly. Using a water clarifier is the wrong solution. Water clarifiers are silicone based liquids that make particles stick together so the water appears clearer for a few days. The cloudiness quickly comes back and then more clarifier is needed, unless something else is done.

A better solution is to stop using a pleated paper filter and switch to a disposable DEPTH style filter. Depth filters trap much smaller particles and hold much more material than thin paper filters. We suggest the Silver Sentinel disposable filter, made from layers and layers of polypropylene (pop bottle plastic) so they are completely recyclable!

Just switching to a better filter totally eliminates the need for filter cleaners and water clarifiers. And did we mention, no more having to clean gross, dirty filters? Just throw Silver Sentinel disposable filters in the recycle bin when they need to be replaced.
