The future of water care for hot tubs is natural and easy on the environment. Arctic’s Spas optional ONZEN™ automated salt water treatment system combines patented ozone technology and natural sea salt into a single system in the spa that will save you time, reduce the need for chemicals and allow you to enjoy soft, sparkling water with a minimum of fuss.
The Onzen Salt Water Treatment System produces sanitizer from naturally-sourced Dead Sea salts using electrolysis.
Generated salt water sanitizer has several advantages over other, more traditional methods of sanitization.
First, the sanitizer is created not added, cutting your costs and reducing the need for chemicals.
Second, the sanitizer that is created is pure and free of residuals, resulting in less frequent water changes.
Third, the spa water is much gentler on the skin and the eyes, with salinity similar to human tears.
A better salt water spa system
The Onzen system addresses many of the issues that plagued previous hot tub salt water systems, such as replacement of the electrodes. The sacrificial nature of the electrolysis system is that the electrodes will eventually deteriorate and have to be replaced. With the Onzen system, replacement is a simple process that can easily be done by the hot tub owner and does not require the hot tub to be drained. The electrode cartridges are inexpensive.
Another key feature of Onzen is that it can be operated from the topside controls or even using the Arctic Spas Smart Phone App. Use these digital controls to match the sanitizer output to the number and frequency of bathers.
The Onzen system works even better when paired with Peak I or Peak II Ozone systems, which basically add activated oxygen, or ozone, to the spa water to maximize the purification and oxidation functions of your sanitation system.
If you choose to install the Peak II Ozone system, you will also need the Eco-pack control system.
